OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2004, The Power of One is a 501-c(3) not-for-profit located in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following is a brief history of the organization.
2004
The Power of One was founded to support an orphanage in Eldoret, Kenya.
2011
The mission was expanded to fund programs beyond the orphanage

Initial funding was given to Hoosier-based small grant projects in the most impoverished areas of the world (up to six $5,000 grants annually)

Newsletters were developed/disseminated sharing the highlights of our funded projects

Grant application packets/review processes were developed
2013
First Strategic Plan developed to refine mission, core values, vision, and key strategies for advancing The Power of One
2014
Hosted first successful friend/fundraiser, featuring the work of our grantees
2015
Expanded Board of Directors with three new board members.
Launched website and enhanced essential organizational infrastructure
2016
Founding Board Member, Marty Moore died. (May 22nd)
