Give Hope, Fight Poverty

GIVE HOPE, FIGHT POVERTY (GHFP) fosters philanthropy domestically by designing service-learning programs that engage US students & professionals with rural communities in Swaziland and Africa to educate, empower and lift orphaned and vulnerable children out of poverty. GHFP was granted $2,500 to explore and expand its soap making operations to provide soap for orphans who face illness due to lack of sanitation and the knowledge of how to use soap and clean toilet facilities.

Tumaini Innovation

Center 

TUMAINI INNOVATION CENTER (TIC) seeks to improve the lives of street children in Eldoret, Kenya by empowering them with hope, knowledge, skills, opportunities and resources necessary for them to find a healthy alternative to street life. TIC was granted $3,500 to support the start up of a vegetable-growing permaculture farm to entable 11 youth to learn about agriculture and gain entrepreneurship skills.

SITEAW

SITEAW, Inc. is dedicated to empowering girls and women in Uganda and Kenya to let them break the chains of oppressive traditions (female circumcision and child trafficing) and have a second chance in life using the tools of Education,Skills and Community.  SITEAW was granted $2,500 to provide scholarships to the winners of a Women's Basket Balancing Race and logistical expenses for the competition.
